By:

- submitting a service request;
- accepting a quotation;
- placing an order;
- booking an assessment; or
- entering into an agreement with S2 Tech,
you agree to the applicable Terms.
Nothing in these Terms removes any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
4. Website Information
We take reasonable steps to keep information accurate and current.
Website content may nevertheless contain errors or become outdated.
Images may be illustrative and actual products, packaging, specifications or finishes may differ.
Website information does not constitute a binding quotation unless expressly stated.
5. Quotations and Assessments
A quotation is based on the information available to S2 Tech at the time it is prepared.
Quotations may be subject to:
- site inspection;
- equipment availability;
- technical feasibility;
- existing wiring and infrastructure;
- access conditions;
- concealed faults;
- additional work discovered on site;
- third-party services; and
- other stated assumptions.
A quotation remains valid for the period stated on that quotation.
Where additional work or costs become necessary, S2 Tech will obtain approval where required before proceeding.
Nothing in these Terms permits S2 Tech to charge a consumer for unauthorised additional repair or maintenance work where such authorisation is required by the Consumer Protection Act.
6. Orders
Submitting an online order constitutes an offer to purchase.
An order is accepted when S2 Tech confirms acceptance or otherwise begins fulfilling the accepted order.
We may decline or cancel an order where:
- stock is unavailable;
- a pricing or listing error occurred;
- payment cannot be verified;
- fraud is suspected;
- delivery is not reasonably possible;
- the transaction would be unlawful; or
- another legitimate reason prevents fulfilment.
If we cancel an order after receiving payment, amounts due to you will be refunded in accordance with applicable law.
7. Pricing
Prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated.
The website, quotation or checkout process will indicate applicable:
- product charges;
- service charges;
- taxes;
- delivery costs;
- call-out charges; and
- other charges applicable to the transaction.
A clear pricing error does not oblige S2 Tech to supply a product at an obviously incorrect price.
Where legally required, we will give you an opportunity to accept the corrected price or cancel the affected transaction.
8. Payment
Payment methods available for a transaction will be displayed during checkout, on the quotation or on the relevant invoice.
Payment may be required:
- in full;
- as a deposit;
- according to project milestones; or
- according to recurring billing arrangements,
depending on the applicable agreement.
S2 Tech may use third-party payment processors.
We take reasonable steps to use appropriately secured payment systems.
9. Delivery and Collection
Delivery times shown on the website or quotation are estimates unless expressly guaranteed.
Delivery may be affected by:
- supplier availability;
- courier delays;
- weather;
- public disturbances;
- access restrictions;
- incorrect delivery information; and
- events outside our reasonable control.
Where ECTA applies, orders will be performed within the legally required period unless another delivery or performance period has been agreed.
10. Online Cooling-Off Rights
Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies to an electronic transaction, a consumer may cancel without reason or penalty:
- a transaction for goods within 7 days after receipt of the goods; or
- a transaction for services within 7 days after conclusion of the agreement.
The consumer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning goods where the law permits.
Certain transactions are excluded from this cooling-off right, including where applicable:
- goods made to the customer's specifications;
- clearly personalised goods;
- goods that cannot reasonably be returned;
- services that began with the consumer's consent before expiry of the cooling-off period; and
- other statutory exclusions.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and other applicable legislation remain unaffected.
11. Returns, Defective Goods and Warranties
Goods supplied to consumers are subject to applicable statutory warranties.
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, goods are subject to the statutory implied warranty of quality.
Where qualifying goods fail to meet the standards required by the CPA within the applicable statutory period, consumers may be entitled to remedies including repair, replacement or refund.
Manufacturer warranties may provide additional protection and will apply according to their respective terms.
Warranty coverage may not apply to damage caused by matters such as:
- misuse;
- unauthorised modifications;
- incorrect third-party installation;
- lightning or electrical events where not covered;
- physical damage;
- water ingress outside the product specification;
- vandalism;
- negligence; or
- use contrary to manufacturer instructions,
to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Installation Services
The customer must provide S2 Tech with reasonable access to the site and relevant equipment.
The customer must disclose known hazards, restrictions and relevant site conditions.
Installation may require:
- drilling;
- cabling;
- mounting;
- network configuration;
- electrical integration;
- equipment configuration; and
- reasonable modifications required for the agreed installation.
Any material change to the agreed scope will be dealt with through an appropriate variation, quotation or approval process.
13. Existing Infrastructure
S2 Tech is not automatically responsible for faults in pre-existing:
- cabling;
- electrical infrastructure;
- networks;
- internet connectivity;
- equipment;
- batteries;
- third-party integrations; or
- systems installed by another provider.
Where such conditions affect the agreed work, we will notify the customer where reasonably practicable.
14. Monitoring and Security Services
Security systems and security personnel reduce risk but cannot eliminate all risk.
Unless expressly guaranteed in a specific written agreement, S2 Tech does not warrant that:
- crime will not occur;
- every incident will be detected;
- every alarm will result in successful intervention;
- CCTV will capture every event;
- communication networks will always remain available; or
- a particular response time will always be achieved.
Actual response may be affected by circumstances including:
- traffic;
- distance;
- weather;
- access restrictions;
- road closures;
- telecommunications failures;
- power failures;
- equipment failures;
- emergencies;
- competing incidents;
- inaccurate customer information;
- dangerous circumstances; and
- circumstances outside S2 Tech's reasonable control.
Any specific service-level commitment contained in an applicable SLA or service agreement will take precedence.
15. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must:
- provide accurate information;
- keep contact and keyholder details current;
- provide lawful access to the premises;
- use systems according to instructions;
- protect passwords, codes and credentials;
- notify S2 Tech of relevant changes to the premises;
- disclose known hazards;
- avoid unauthorised interference with installed equipment;
- promptly report faults where continued service depends on repair; and
- comply with applicable law.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that persons authorised to use an account or security system are properly authorised.
16. CCTV, Biometrics and Privacy
Where a customer operates CCTV, facial recognition, biometric access control or other surveillance technology, the customer is responsible for ensuring that its use of that technology is lawful.
This includes obtaining permissions, providing notices and complying with POPIA or other applicable requirements where necessary.
Where S2 Tech processes personal information on behalf of a customer, the parties' respective responsibilities may be further defined in an operator or service agreement.
17. Connectivity and Third-Party Services
Certain systems depend on third-party services including:
- electricity;
- mobile networks;
- internet connectivity;
- cloud platforms;
- alarm communication networks;
- manufacturers;
- software providers;
- mapping services; and
- telecommunications networks.
S2 Tech cannot guarantee the availability or performance of independent third-party infrastructure.
18. Client Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You must notify S2 Tech promptly if you believe that an account, password, code or credential has been compromised.
You may not:
- access another person's account without authorisation;
- attempt to bypass security controls;
- probe or attack our systems;
- introduce malware;
- interfere with services;
- scrape protected data;
- attempt unauthorised access; or
- use our systems for unlawful purposes.
19. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the content and intellectual property associated with the S2 Tech website and systems belong to S2 Tech or its licensors.
This includes:
- branding;
- logos;
- graphics;
- website designs;
- software interfaces;
- documents;
- photographs;
- written content; and
- other proprietary material.
You may not reproduce or commercially exploit protected material without permission except where permitted by law.
Third-party product names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
20. Recurring and Fixed-Term Services
Monitoring, armed-response, guarding, maintenance or other ongoing services may be governed by a recurring or fixed-term agreement.
The specific:
- contract period;
- monthly charges;
- escalation provisions;
- cancellation requirements;
- equipment arrangements; and
- service levels
will be stated in the applicable agreement.
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies to a fixed-term consumer agreement, statutory cancellation rights apply, including the applicable right to cancel on written or other recorded notice, subject only to lawful amounts and reasonable cancellation penalties.
21. Suspension
Subject to applicable law and contractual notice requirements, S2 Tech may suspend affected services where reasonably necessary because of:
- non-payment;
- unlawful use;
- fraudulent activity;
- security threats;
- serious breach of agreement;
- unsafe working conditions;
- interference with equipment; or
- circumstances making continued service unlawful or unsafe.
Emergency suspension may occur without advance notice where reasonably necessary to protect people, systems or property.
22. Liability
S2 Tech will be responsible for loss to the extent that liability is imposed on us by applicable law or an applicable agreement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, S2 Tech will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from the customer's unlawful, negligent or unauthorised use of products or services.
Nothing in these Terms:
- excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded;
- excludes liability for gross negligence where such exclusion is prohibited;
- limits statutory consumer rights; or
- overrides rights granted by the Consumer Protection Act, ECTA or other applicable law.
23. Force Majeure
Neither party will be treated as having breached an obligation because performance was prevented by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law.
Examples may include:
- natural disasters;
- fire;
- severe weather;
- riots or civil unrest;
- strikes;
- war;
- terrorism;
- government restrictions;
- widespread network outages;
- major electricity failures; and
- other events beyond reasonable control.
This clause does not excuse payment obligations already due.
24. Privacy
Personal information is processed according to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
The Privacy Policy forms part of the legal framework governing use of S2 Tech's digital services.
25. Electronic Communications
You agree that communications and records may be delivered electronically where permitted by law.
Electronic communications may include:
- quotations;
- invoices;
- order confirmations;
- service notifications;
- job records;
- account notices;
- security alerts; and
- contractual notices.
You are responsible for keeping your contact information current.
26. Transaction Records
Electronic transaction and service records may be retained for operational, contractual, financial, regulatory and legal purposes.
Customers may request copies of records to which they are legally entitled.
27. Complaints
Complaints should initially be directed to:
S2 Tech Security
Email: info@s2tech.co.za
Telephone: 071 604 0484
We will attempt to resolve legitimate complaints reasonably and in good faith.
Nothing prevents a consumer from approaching a regulator, ombud, tribunal, commission or court where they are legally entitled to do so.
28. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Subject to any statutory rights relating to consumer forums or jurisdiction, disputes may be dealt with by a court of competent jurisdiction in South Africa.
29. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to operate to the extent legally possible.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to:
- our services;
- technology;
- business practices;
- regulatory requirements; or
- applicable law.
Material changes affecting an existing contract will not automatically override agreed contractual rights where additional consent or notice is required by law.
The latest website version will display its effective date.
